Recession hits Danish shipyard
19 June 2009
Shipyards are feeling the effect of the slump in world trade that has hit shipping, and plans to build more ships. The Danish shipping giant AP Moller Maersk has announced that it is to cut a further 175 jobs at its shipyard in Odense, Denmark, following the lay off of 250 workers over the last year. The yard has not received a new build order for more than a year, and work on its current orders will be completed at the end of 2011.Back to current news online stories
